Submission
Grappling also known as (Submission Fighting) or simply No-Gi and combat
wrestling in Japan. Is a formula of martial arts and combat sports.
The focus of this particular style of fight is on clinch and ground fighting styles used to submit the opponent.
The sport of submission grappling bring together techniques from Folk American Wrestling, Catch-as catch-can, Luta Livre Esportiva, Freestyle Wrestling. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo and Sambo. Submission grappling as an element of a larger sport is very common in mixed martial arts, pankration, catch wrestling and many other fighting styles.
The term submission grappling usually refers to the form of training that doesn't use a "Gi" or combat kimono often worn with belts that establish rank by color. Submission grapplers usually wear shorts, skin sticky clothing such as rash guards Speedos or other tight fitting clothes that can't be held onto to gain a superior position or ripped off during combat.

There are some important factors to be considered before taking your first boxing class to insure it's fun, productive and safe. Here are a few tips for anyone who would like to take boxing classes.
Consider your current level of fitness. Don't make an aggressive Submission Grappling program your first foray into this type of exercise program. If you have arthritis, tight hamstrings an inflexible back or other physical limitations you'll want to start in one of the slower paced classes to be sure that wrestling is going to be the right type of exercise program for your particular physical situation and abilities. Even if you think your in good shape and have been in a cross training program, take it easy until your body adapts to the new types of moves you will be performing in our classes.
If your just starting out get in Empire Training Center's beginners Submission Grappling class where you will get an introduction to the techniques used in the more advanced classes. Learn the basic moves and do them until you feel comfortable with them, then progressively move into the more advanced classes to insure that you get the best workout from your Submission Grappling classes at Empire Training Center
